Women For Tri Grantee Events & Info

Speed Sherpa is honored to be a Women for Tri triathlon club grantee! We are passionate about welcoming more women into the endurance community.  Speed Sherpa is excited to work with Ironman along with top local and global names in triathlon to break down barriers of entry and make our sport more fun, accessible, and safe for women of all ages and backgrounds.


OCT. 17TH WOMEN'S SPECIFIC STRENGTH TRAINING & MOBILITY WEBINAR WITH ERIN CARSON OF RALLYSPORT and ECFIT Boulder, a strength program designed for athletes. Erin's clients include World Champion and Olympic-level female athletes such as Mirinda Carfrae, Flora Duffy, Paula Findlay, Evie Stevens, and Kara Goucher. Erin is a former Canadian National Team basketball player and an elite age-group triathlete, competing at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships this fall. Erin will join us for an hour long webinar about the importance of strength and mobility training for female triathletes, and provide tips to set you up for success in the off-season and for 2020! SEPT. 21ST & OCT. 6TH OPEN WATER SWIM SKILLS CLINIC FOR WOMEN AT MACHINE PERFORMANCE CENTER in Vienna, VA. Nerves over the swim portion of triathlon is often the biggest barrier to entry for new triathletes. Speed Sherpa Head Coach Dave will work one on one with athletes at a private pool to help build your skills and confidence in the water. He will also provide you drills and swim sets you can do on your own that will translate into an open water environment. Dave is a 7-time World Championship qualifying triathlete (short course, long course, and off-road). He has more than a decade of triathlon coaching experience, 20 years swim coaching experience, and was an ocean life guard for many years. Join us for a social gathering after the clinic with current Speed Sherpa women team members to talk triathlon or anything else you want!

OCT. 2ND, 9PM ET BICYCLE SAFETY & SKILLS WEBINAR WITH PRO TRIATHLETES HALEY CHURA & ALYSSA GODESKY. Alyssa and Haley co-host the IronWomen podcast, which seeks to gain more attention in the media for female athletes. They interview professional triathletes and women from all areas of endurance sport, as well as answer listener questions and offer insights into life as a professional triathlete. Both women are passionate about cycling issues: In fact, in 2015 Haley was hit by a car while on a training ride. She spent several months recovering from injuries but returned to racing and has recorded some of her best performances post-crash. Alyssa and Haley will join us for an hour long webinar to share their insights into bike safety, skills, and tips for women triathletes.
